Pink Journey Giveaway
icon1 Crazy about Cricut | icon2 Contests, News | icon4 08 30th, 2009| icon350 Comments »

For Septembers contest, I am giving away a Pink Journey cartridge, in honor of Scrap Pink on September 26. I’m also going to be giving away a prize everyday from September 1 thru September 25.

Pink Journey

In honor of Breast Cancer awareness, I’m making a bunch of mini card kits. They’re pink and will have ribbons and bows and they’re the perfect way to honor the women you know who have fought with this disease. I’m giving away one of these card kits to a lucky reader each day for 25 days. There will be a new kit every six days for a total of four different kits, and each kit will have 3 mini cards along with a box to keep them in.

Pink Journey

There are two ways to enter:

  • Every day at 9am I will publish a post for the daily Card Kit Giveaway. All you need to do is leave a comment on the post and you are entered to win that day’s kit. One person who commented will be chosen randomly every day to receive a kit, and be entered in the contest to win the Pink Journey Cartridge.
  • In the daily post there will be a link to my eBay page. Randomly throughout the day I will list 5 more kits for $1 each, including shipping. Purchase a kit and you will are entered. If you don’t see one right away, keep checking back, as there will be 5 listings throughout the day.

Here’s the contest rules:

  • The list of the 6 winners will be posted in the following day’s Card Kit Giveaway post.
  • You can enter the contest once a day every day, but only one entry per day. So if you purchase a kit on eBay and you win one, you will receive both kits, but you will only be entered into the drawing once for that day.
  • Because the card kits are a deal at $1, and I want everyone to have a fair chance, you may only purchase one per day. You can purchase one each day if you’d like.
  • The winners of all contests will be notified by email, so regardless of which entry method you choose, you’ll need to have your email registered here at the site to enter. We want to be able to notify everyone that they’ve won.
  • On September 26, I will do a random drawing (remember, 6 entries per day for 25 days=only 150 entrants. Not bad odds.) and the winner will receive the Pink Journey cartridge.

Look for the first post on Sept 1.

Good Luck everyone and remember, if you can think it… you can Cri-cut!

Hi everyone! I want take a minute and thank everyone who has registered with me for my July contest. I never imagined the success I would have.

I have received many, many positive and uplifting comments, both here and on the Cricut messageboards, and if I never personally thanked you, I want to do so now. The only thing that makes me happier than sitting in my craftroom cutting with my Cricut is sharing all the things I have learned with others, and this blog has provided the perfect outlet for that.

I’m announcing another constest for the month of August. To find out what to do to enter, Read the rest of this entry »

Christy’s Main St. Memories

Today, I visited Christy’s Main Street Memories in New Concord Ohio. While I was there I couldn’t get over how cute the place was. The owner Christy Applegate was as nice as could be, and even scheduled a class on Sept 19!

CMSM

My daughter and I visited her store and were there quite a while just chatting about scrapping and her store and took a look around. She has an amazing selection of products and a wide variety of paper, and she had a lot of options when it came to stamps, some that you can’t find at the big chains. She gets business from all over but has a steady clientele of regulars who want to support local businesses, and she even does special orders! She does different classes, and has demonstrations from some of the stamping companies, and tries hard to Read the rest of this entry »

Anyone in St. Louis? I might be in your area
icon1 Crazy about Cricut | icon2 News | icon4 07 20th, 2009| icon32 Comments »

Hi everyone! I am thinking about scheduling some classes in the St. Louis area the last weekend in August, maybe Friday 8/28 and Saturday 8/29, but I wanted to get a feel for how many people are interested in taking a class there. I’ll probably do Cricut Basics and Design Studio for sure, but it might turn out to be more depending on how many people I have. I also was thinking about doing an all day workshop.

Also, as of right now I don’t have a location for the classes. I have some ideas, but if you know of a facility that has accommodations that would allow me to teach my classes, such as a church or community center, that would be really great. Plus, you can take both classes for free! Any other ideas for locations are greatly appreciated.

The dates and location are tentative for right now. I am just trying to get a feel for how many people are interested, so please if you are interested, let me know. You don’t have to commit to anything of course, I’m just trying to see gauge interest. You can contact me using the contact form here on the site, or leave a comment on this post!

Thanks everyone and Happy Cricuting!!

What would a vacation be if there wasn’t any Scrapbooking? Well, not a vacation, at least in my book. I scouted out some scrapbooking stores that were in Traverse City and planned on visiting a few. First up was Forget Me Not Scrapbooking.

Me outside FMNS in Traverse City.

A cute place with all my scrapping needs, I met a fellow scrapper and also employee who was excited to tell me a bit about the place. Not only does she share my love for crafting, but she shares Read the rest of this entry »

Gypsy rumors squashed!
icon1 Crazy about Cricut | icon2 News | icon4 07 14th, 2009| icon3No Comments »

Several admin posts on the Cricut message boards today dispel the rumors of Gypsy erasing cartridges.

This post by McKay Brown states:

“There has been plenty of buzz about a coming product, Gypsy, and the way it will work with the Cricut cartridges. Many have speculated that using a cartridge with Gypsy will wipe the content from the Cricut Cartridge. This is not the case. People that buy Gypsy will be able to use any of their cartridges with your Gypsy OR any Cricut machine.”

In this message, Denise Rolfe, Market Research Director at Provo Craft, confirms that Read the rest of this entry »

According to this post on the message boards, there is no truth to the rumor that Gypsy will erase your valuable cartridges. The author quotes an email she received as saying:

“There has been plenty of buzz about our recent campaign for a new product we are getting ready to release. I’m sure you’ve already seen www.roguegypsies.com and have heard the rumbling. I wanted to give you a heads up that I’m posting clarification on one issue in particular. Many have speculated that using a cartridge with Gypsy will wipe the content from the Cricut Cartridge. This is not the case. People that buy Gypsy will be able to use any of their cartridges with your Gypsy OR any Cricut machine.”

“More details on exactly how the Gypsy works will be released in the near future but I wanted to be sure you knew that the cartridges are not erased.”

I am hoping to be able to confirm this email shortly, but in the meantime, it appears that the fears were ungrounded. I didn’t think those rumors made sense, but you never know.

What do you think?

Jul 11

As I am sure many of you have already received, I got an email from Provo Craft “announcing” their new product. I say it like that, because the email could have fooled anyone to believe that there actually were rogue crafters who were trying to steal their ideas.

After having a teaser on the opening page of their website forever, Provo Craft sent out the clever advertisement for what seems like a good product with a lot of good features, but one serious downside, at least from what I have read. Obviously I don’t know for sure, because the product is not out.

For those that don’t already know, the Gypsy is a small computer with Design Studio built in. You don’t need a computer to use it, and it works with all cartridges and versions of the Cricut. You plug your cartridges into it and it uploads them onto the device, so you can store all of your cartridges on one small device, carry them with you everywhere and design on the go. Then when you’re ready to cut, you plug it into your Cricut and cut away. Sounds like a Cricut version of the iPod.

Except for one thing, and I don’t know if this is true, in fact I don’t really believe Read the rest of this entry »
