I used my Gypsy to make the file for this card, so I can’t share it with you just yet, but as soon as I can, I will!

For this project, you will need:

• Your Scor Pal for clean, straight creases
• Adhesive such as Glue glider pro or an ATG gun
• A holiday stamp and and ink pad. Mine are from Close to My Heart.
• rhinestones. Any tiny white ones will do.
• Your choice of ribbon in a holiday color.
• Pop dots. If you want to learn how to make your own, check out my video on the subject.
• Green and red stickles

More cards! I have been experimenting with my Gypsy so I’ve been making lots of cards. I made this extra sweet cupcake card for a friend of mine, and can’t believe how cute it is!

For this project you’ll need:

• Your Wild Card cartridge.
• A Scor Pal.
• Adhesive such as an ATG gun, or Glue glider pro.
• Sugar Coating Glitter Lily White
• A small piece of acetate.

I used my Gypsy to design this card, so until Provo Craft makes it compatible with the Design Studio software, I can’t share my files with you, but you can still use this technique with a variety of designs.

For this project I used:

• Acetate Hint: If it can fit my current project, sometimes I’ll use the acetate from Cricut cartridges or other packages that usually just gets thrown away. You save money and the environment all in one project!
• Rub ons There are lots of ‘em out there. Just whichever brand and design you choose.
• My Scor Pal of course.

• Doodlebug in Lily White
• Used dryer sheet. A new one won’t have the same effect.

• Zig Glue
• Fishing Wire, or other clear wire of your choice
• Color Box Chalk Inkpad, I used chestnut roan
• Scor Pal with the awesome Self Healing Mat

It’s a simple gatefold that turns out super cute for a birthday card or just when you want a quick card that looks like it took all day. You’ll need a Scor-Pal, and a few other materials, but you can easily change the design to suit your needs. For those of you who like the teapot design in the video, I’ll have the Design Studio files available for download tomorrow so be sure to check back.

Now that you know how to stop it from cracking there are other useful things to make your creases perfect. My favorite is the Making Memories Bone Folder, or the Measuring & Scoring Board by Scor-Pal, but there’s also a pretty good one in your Cricut tool kit as well.

Now you’re on your way to making beautiful cards.

After I saw the video, I just had to have more information. LaShaun was nice enough to call and talk to me, and I learned a lot about her.

LaShaun got her first Cricut in 2006 and loved it so much she got the Expressions in 2007. She’s thought a lot about selling her smaller machine, but just can’t part with it, so her three children use it to make their own creations. She uses her machine for everything imaginable, even making t-shirts. She said she got the idea of painting her Cricut from
Scrapping Melissa, a fellow crafter who also painted her Cricut machine, who saw someone else do it, but whose husband took it apart for her. While hers turned out great, LaShaun didn’t feel too well about taking her machine apart so she just improvised and did it her way.

For this project you’ll need:

• Your Cricut machine
• Spray Paint. A couple to try are Krylon Pink Fusion, or Valspar Premium Enamel. I’ve also used this Krylon Pumpkin Orange Fusion and had great results on another project, and of course I am partial to Fluorescent Green, but you can use any color or finish you want, as long as it can be used on plastic.
• Painter’s Tape
• Craft Knife

Now while I would have chosen green if I was going to paint my Cricut, she did an excellent job. Best of all, she was kind enough to make an instructional video for anyone who wants to try it. She used only three products (besides her Cricut of course). Painter’s tape, pink spray paint, and a craft knife. She used Valspar Interior/Exterior Glossy Multipurpose spray paint in pink. There was a note in the beginning of the video to make sure to use paint that was made for plastic, otherwise it might peel off. Other than that I imagine you can use any color of finish you want. Also, you’ll notice that she made an excellent point not to paint the inside of your machine. You don’t want to clog your buttons or otherwise make your Cricut unusable. Afterall, what good is it if it only looks pretty? We’re striving for beauty and function here people!

While I would choose to paint my machine green instead of pink, you do have to admit that it looks fabulous, as if it came that way straight out of the box.

I want to say thanks to LaShaun for letting me feature her and taking the time to make this awesome video for us, and for taking the time to talk to me on the phone. One of the things I’ve found is that when I’ve stumbled upon a great project idea, there’s nothing better than being able to share it with the world. I am sending LaShaun a gift basket to thank her for her time. After LaShaun’s pink Cricut, I’m sure soon there will be multicolored Cricuts everywhere!

This was posted on the cricut messageboard by LaShaun, so I thought I would share. I know it’s fun to tackle projects like this, but it helps to remember that there are risks to everything, and that you should consider all aspects before starting this project.

I called CS and was told that if the paint is the cause of your cricut problem then it WILL void your warranty.

I will repeat this again “wait until your waaranty is up” (1 year). IF you can’t wait, do what Jackie did and paint just the silver part. If you paint the whole thing and it seeps in, causes the door not to open, messes up the computer ect. then your warranty is voided.

You can always just use removeable vinyl or rub-ons. I saw someone paint the wall pops and then place it on her cricut (i know who i’m talking about I just can’t remember her name) it’s easy to remove if you mess up or if you change your colors!
