Design Studio

So you have some cartridges, you’ve played around with them, you’ve cut out everything you can with each cartridge. Now you want more. If this sounds like you, I have great news. You can have more. With Cricut Design Studio.

Design Studio is a computer software program available from Cricut, and if you haven’t heard about it, or tried it, you should, and I’ll explain why.

Go Bucks Borders Borders Borders

It basically includes a computerized version of every cartridge for the Cricut. It allows you to create your own designs using the different shapes available in each cartridge. You can overlap, resize, and view your creation right on the screen. You use your imagination to make your own designs on the virtual cutting mat. You see everything right there as you’re working, and what you see is what you’ll cut. It’s simple and fun, and a great way to use your Cricut for more than just the shapes available in each cartridge that everyone has access to. WIth Design Studio, the sky’s the limit. You can do simple overlays with letters, or even extravagant creations like the Scooby Doo below. That was created on Design Studio using the George and Basic Shapes cartridge by Mary who I met on the cricut messageboards. Checkout her blog here Pretty amazing huh?

Maybe you’ve played around with Design Studio but don’t really know all that it can do? I can help with that too. With my Design Studio Class. In this class, I’ll show you how Design Studio works, so you don’t have to spend your time learning, you can move right on to creating.

Once you’ve mastered Design Studio, you can join my Design Studio Club, where each month we’ll tackle a different cartridge.

For all of the Design Studio classes, you’ll need to have the Design Studio software available at You’ll also need to have a laptop to bring to class. You don’t need to bring your Cricut. A flash drive is also recommended.

For the Design Studio classes, you should have a basic knowledge of the Cricut machine itself and all that it can do. Please check out my Cricut Basics page if you haven’t taken my basic class. You’ll be more than ready for Design Studio.

Don’t forget that I am giving away my own Design Studio creations at the Free Designs page. You’ll need to register if you haven’t already, and once you’re logged in you can download my designs for free!
