To make my flowers for my card, I started by cutting out a 1 inch round using any punch.

I then cut out 4 1.5 inch pieces and folded them in half.

Then tuck each half so that one half is below and one half is on top of each scallop.

Then I added a button on the center, and voila, beautiful flowers for my card!

Here’s my card.

As you can see, I used a lot of different products to make this card, and quite a few were from Close To My Heart, including the stamps used for the images which are only available to Close to My Heart consultants.

I recently became a CTMH consultant and can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner. It’s fun, I have met some great people and I get to make money doing what I love: stamping and scrapping!

The challenge was to create a card with an “Outer Space” theme with words will inspire that theme.

I tried several different things and eventually started over from scratch, but I’m pretty pleased with my final product.

Each day Pam puts up a new challenge, and to enter you have to create a card based on whatever the challenge is. It could be a sketch, a color scheme, or a technique, it’s new every day. What’s amazing is how everyone can look at the same challenge and come up with something totally different from everyone else.

I’ve decided to try it and share my results here with you. I can’t promise I’ll do it everyday, but I’ll definitely try. And I encourage you to check out her blog and if you feel up to it, you should try it yourself.

For Cricut Basics you’ll need to bring:

• Cricut machine (doesn’t matter which model)
• Cartridge that came with machine, plus a cartridge with upper and lower case

• New blade

Just so you know, you don’t have to have taken the class to do the exchange, but you should make at least 15 cards for trade. There will be refreshments available and you’ll get 10% off any purchases for participating.

The techniques I used for these include quilling, masking, micro beading, faux painting, and using rub ons with achol inks, but you can do whatever you want, just be creative. Hope to see you all there!

I don’t know where you are, but here in Ohio we’ve just been bombarded with snow lately. Literally bombarded. And there is more to come. I love snow, but I’ve had enough. I’ve already had to cancel my Cricut classes due to this madness, so to those of you are have been praying for snow, please STOP!!

Onto what you came here for. Did you see Cricut on the Early Show this morning? What did everyone think?

They left a lot out, but of course it was only a 4 minute spot and they had to get in other products, but it was publicity nonetheless, although a little misleading. They showed the Expressions machine with the price of the Baby. Granted, only the diehard cricuters pobably noticed, but still.

I met some wonderful ladies and got several really cute cards in the process.

I made the pink one on the top. The rest were all trades I received. I do an ATC class every month at Mojo’s if you are interested, and the following week we do the swap. Every month is a different theme. This month’s was snow, next month’s is friendship. You don’t have to come to the class (third Friday of the month 4:30-6:30pm), to join the swap. Just bring your cards and enjoy refreshments and even get a discount on product.

You will need to bring the following:

• Glue stick
• Brown chestnut roan chalk ink
• Glossy Accents
• Paper Trimmer
• White pen
• Both wet and dry adhesive
• Markers, both primary and black

Boolean Operations

These operations allow you to create some pretty nice effects like Lattices. Here is something I created in a couple minutes using basic shapes included in Make The Cut:

Warp
Now you can add some perspective to your projects. I added Perspective and Bilinear warp!

Path Simplification
Have you ever notice a shape has a lot of un-needed nodes? Well, now you can remove them using the Smooth and Simplify tool.

Shape Magic Toolbar
This has been asked for a lot… Floating toolbars along with a Shape Magic toolbar.

There has been many more optimizations, bug fixes, shadow improvements, etc… but those are the main features. Oh and weld was fixed too!
